• How can I determine if the PPI of the CFF is appropriate?

  An inappropriate CFF can lead to poor flow of the liquid metal or failure to meet the standard for filtering impurities in the liquid metal.

  Therefore, if you encounter the situations like CFF blocking during production in every casting, or if impurities frequently appear in the finished products, you may need to consider the issue of mismatched CFF PPI.

• Aluminum liquid congestion often occurs during the production process, what’s the reason and how to solve?

  Poor aluminum flow is generally caused by the following reasons:

  -Insufficient preheating

  -Too much inclusions

  -Low PPI

  -Unreasonable filter box design, the gas beneath the molten aluminum was not discharged smoothly.

  The solutions are as follows:

  -Preheat the filter plate thoroughly to ensure that the temperature at the bottom of the filter plate is not lower than 350.

  -Increase refining in the furnace to reduce the discharge of impurities.

  -Increase the size of the filter plate or reduce the PPI of the filter plate.

  -Polish the bottom channel of the filter box and add an exhaust device during the production process.

• What causes the CFF floating during the use of CFF ?

  The reasons to cause CFF floating are as follows:

  -The CFF is not installed firmly.

  -During the aluminum passing process, the air under the CFF was not completely discharged.

  -The second stage design of the two-stage filter box is unreasonable

  The solutions are as follows:

  -Make sure the CFF is installed in place.

  -Control the aluminum passage speed to completely expel the gas under the CFF.

  -Place a pressure block or an exhaust pipe on top of the CFF.

  -When design the two-stage filter box, note that the liquid metal should flow from upside to downside of the CFF in the second stage.

• What causes the CFF to break during use?

  The reasons caused CFF break are as follows:

  -Uneven preheating or rapid temperature rise can lead to cracking

  -Cracks were caused by impact during transportation

  -Vibration or cleaning the surface of the CFF during use may cause it to crack.

  -The inner lining of the filter box is severely damaged or the size is inappropriate, resulting in the CFF not being installed properly, which causes uneven force on the CFF and eventually leads to its rupture

  The solutions are as follows:

  -Provide appropriate preheating suggestions based on the design of the filter box.

  -Carefully inspect the CFF before use to ensure it is in good condition.

  -Select the appropriate PPI of the CFF.

  -Repair or replace the filter box to ensure that the CFFs are installed properly.
